Victoria Square Project invites kids 4-12 years old to participate in the art workshops of the 10 countries / 10 artists program, starting from May 25 until July 30, 2021. The workshops are for free and will be held online as well as physically in our premises.

 

During these ten weeks, we learn about artists coming from the countries of our neighbors in Victoria Square. We get inspired from each artist’s work, we learn about the countries’ history and the different cultures through fun activities based on each artist’s practice and methodology.

 

The first cycle of the program, that began in March 2021, connected more than 100 children from Astypalea and Kavala to Bucharest. During the workshops the kids got to know the work of artists from Nigeria, Albania, Mali, Georgia, Pakistan and other countries. Due to increased interest, along with the second cycle, the first one will be repeated online as well as in our space.

 

In the second cycle our journey continues, and we get to know new visual artists, men and women, expressing themselves through different means and practices. During the second cycle the kids will explore the work of artists from Palestine, Côte d’Ivoire, Romania and many more. Performance, sculpting and collaborative artworks are dominant, aiming at giving the kids further collaboration and co-creation skills.
